New Report Reveals Patriots’ Draft Day Targets on Days Two and Three

The most likely additions for the New England Patriots during the draft are at wide receiver and the offensive line. But, there are multiple other positions of need across the Patriots roster.

A new report indicated two positions that the Patriots are looking to address in the middle rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft.

According to a report from Chad Graff of The Athletic, the Patriots are looking to add a speedster running back and a run-stuffing defensive tackle.

Graff reports that the Patriots would be looking to add players for those roles in round three or later.

For the speedy running back, Graff names RJ Harvey from UCF, Trevor Etienne from Georgia, Bhayshul Tuten from Virginia Tech, Brashard Smith from SMU, and Jaydon Blue from Texas.

Each of those running backs ran a 40-yard dash faster than 4.45 seconds, with Tuten running the fastest at 4.32 seconds.

The 2025 running back class is deep, and the options for the Patriots on days two and three are great.

Similar to the deep running back class, the defensive tackle class is also renowned for its depth.

Graff reports that the Patriots are looking to add a run-stuffing defensive tackle to replace Davon Godchaux.

Just like running backs, Graff signals that the Patriots are likely to add a defensive tackle in the middle rounds.

A few names that Graff connects to the Patriots are Ohio State’s Ty Hamilton, UCLA’s Jay Toia, Florida’s Cam Jackson, Boston College’s Cam Horsley, and Iowa’s Yahya Black.

While the defensive tackle draft class isn’t as stacked as the running back class, there are still plenty of interesting options down the board for New England.

Graff’s report hints at the Patriots’ potential plan on days two and three of the draft, and gives a peek at some of the options that New England is considering.
