The addition of George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys offense has been largely seen as a good move and one that will greatly benefit Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb.

No longer does that duo have to do all the heavy lifting; they now have another receiver who can do his part.

Plus, with Jake Ferguson and Jalen Tolbert as the other pass-catching options, the Cowboys do have multiple avenues to attack with.

But as far as what Pickens will do for the offense? Fellow receiver Jalen Tolbert knows it’s going to open everything up.

“It’s just another threat, just another option,” Tolbert said. “Whether it’s CeeDee [Lamb], George [Pickens], myself, Turp [Turpin], [Jonathan] Mingo, you go out there each and every day, and you have to cover somebody.

You have to find some part of the defense to look over somebody. Obviously, it’s not enough pieces for all of that.

So, it gives you the ability to be versatile and move guys around and have fun and go out there and make plays.”

We saw how defenses played Lamb last season, often double-teaming him because no other receiver scared the defense enough to warrant coverage. Pickens does.

So now the defense has to account for both Pickens and Lamb, which means others like Tolbert, Ferguson, and Mingo will get advantageous matchups.

Even Lamb, who was doubled a lot last season, still surpassed 1,000 yards.

So things will open up for Prescott and the passing game, and it isn’t just another threat that George brings; it’s a genuine No. 1, take the game away from you threat.

Pair that with Lamb, and now you have something to cook with in 2025.
