Jos Verstappen Demands Red Bull to ‘Look in the Mirror’ Amid Max Verstappen Future Rumors

Max Verstappen‘s future at Red Bull has remained a hot topic since the beginning of the team’s incessant performance struggles. The Dutchman has received some very lucrative offers from the rival teams amidst Milton Keynes’ tumultuous state.

Now, as Verstappen’s future remains under scrutiny, Jos Verstappen has issued a stern statement against the Austrian constructor if they do not find improvements soon.

Aston Martin took the F1 world by storm after allegedly offering Max Verstappen a massive $1.2 billion deal. In addition to this, Mercedes’ extreme interest in the Dutchman continues throughout the 2025 season as well.

Also, it was revealed that if the Dutchman falls below P3 in the drivers’ standings, he is allowed to leave the team scot-free.

Jos Verstappen, who has remained frustrated by Red Bull’s continuous performance struggles in recent years, has issued a strict warning to the team now.

Speaking about the team’s difficult races in recent times with Verstappen, the father reckoned that it was for the better that he wasn’t present at the races.

The 53-year-old believes that it was also good for his own state of mind not to see his son not being able to win.

Maybe it was a good thing that I wasn’t there then, also for my own state of mind.

Jos Verstappen told De Telegraaf

Verstappen Sr. highlighted that the situation seems different a couple of days after the race weekend, as the agitation wears off. Still, Formula 1 remains a huge emotion for the 53-year-old as he insists that he wants the best for his son.

The ex-F1 driver claims that if things do not work out for the better for Red Bull, they must look in the mirror and reflect on their past mistakes. The Austrian constructor must improve as soon as possible to retain Max Verstappen in their squad for the coming years.

Two days later you naturally look at certain things differently, but sport is also emotion. I just want the best for Max. And if it doesn’t work out then, Red Bull should look in the mirror.

Jos Verstappen asserts Red Bull’s pace ‘looks more positive’

Red Bull’s current pace as compared to the beginning of the season seems much more positive and competitive. Max Verstappen is able to contend for the race wins at the least as he regains his confidence in the drivers’ title standings.

Even Jos Verstappen doesn’t fail to understand that the team is giving it their all and has achieved great improvements in pace.

Jos Verstappen emphasizes that Red Bull’s pace looks much more positive now. While Verstappen Jr. faced struggles to emerge victorious at the Monaco GP, where the father was present, he believes the racing venue to be an odd duck.

As such, Verstappen Sr. notes that the upcoming Spanish GP in Barcelona would be a true representative where Milton Keynes in terms of performances.

It definitely looks more positive, Monaco is a bit of an odd duck, but think in Barcelona we are going to see where Red Bull actually stands.

Jos Verstappen noted

McLaren still remains the team to beat for Red Bull and Max Verstappen as they aim to bridge the gap to the team at the forefront. Verstappen is giving it his all to improve the team’s situation, and they must do the same.

Time will tell if the Austrian constructor successfully manages to improve their condition in the development war against the rivals. Till then, the Dutchman will continue to deliver the best results possible with the available resources.
