According to the carmaker, which has been losing quite a bit of ground last year against its main rivals from BMW and Mercedes-Benz, while the Americans from Cadillac are becoming a major threat, too, their all-new ninth-gen sedan is now "quicker, quieter and" packed "with more driver-centric tech than the outgoing model, wrapped in sophisticated interior and exterior design."
The pompous official speak is one thing, the opinion of buyers is another – and Audi has to convince them that it's well worth the upgrade compared to the previous iteration as well as a deemed rival for the great BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, as well as the Cadillac CT5 and the new 2026 Lexus ES, among others.
Of course, all this is fine and dandy, but it's pretty clear that the rumor mill, along with the members of the imaginative guild of digital car content creators dwelling across the parallel universes of vehicular CGI, believes that salvation only comes from the high-performance Audi RS 6 Avant model.
That way, Audi would have a true flagship and also a fighting chance against the popular BMW M5 Touring.
For example, the rumor mill has found out that Audi's RS 6 e-tron project is now dead, and just recently, Nikita Chuicko, the virtual artist better known as kelsonik on social media, thinks that now is the right CGI time to work on a new Audi RS 6 Avant high-performance station wagon.
The transformation isn't difficult, of course – the pixel master keeps the characteristics of the new Audi A6 and only makes the assembly way sportier with enlarged air intakes, a subtle gloss black aerodynamic kit, plus the characteristic oval exhaust outlets, now tucked closer to the center of the black rear diffuser.
Additionally, the CGI expert rendered the unofficial, hypothetical 2027 Audi RS 6 Avant design project in a couple of colors – a simple, pure white and a feisty orange.
To season them, he also added a set of classic-looking six-spoke alloy wheels dressed in a timeless white hue and tucked a set of massive red brake calipers behind them.
So, while the design of the proposed 2027 Audi RS 6 Avant is decidedly modern, there's also a callback to the early days of Audi Sport, linking past to the present and the future.
By the way, the opinions regarding this unofficial take on the next-gen RS 6 Avant were a bit divided on social media. So, what do you think – yay or nay?
